7TH ANNUAL NYC WEDDING MARCH – Sunday, September 26 | BrooklynBridge | Manhattan Side
Dignity/New York at the Wedding March!
As part of our continuing witness for justice, Dignity/New York is a community partner for the 7th NYC Wedding March. Our name and our logo will be included in all the ads and press materials. If you are able to participate, please register according to the instructions at the website below. We have committed to having at least 10 members attend, and we are sure that there will be at least that many of us out that day in support of marriage equality. On August 4th, a federal district court upheld the right of same sex couples to marry in California stating that singling out gay men and women for denial of a marriage license “does nothing more than enshrine the notion… that opposite sex couples are superior to same sex couples.” The California decision, however, does not change the fact that, as of today, forty-five states including New York deny same sex couples the right to marry. With the California case headed for the Supreme Court and the November elections just around the corner, national support for same sex marriage is critical. Now is the time to show our state and our nation that marriage is a civil right and discrimination against our LGBT brothers and sisters is intolerable. Join other Dignity/New York members, and thousands more, as we walk together across the Brooklyn Bridge creating a rainbow flag of equality. Register Now to be part of our team at http://www.meny.us/march
Our team numbers are growing strong.
